Vidya Bhawan (Udaipur)

               INTRODUCTION 

Located in the city of lakes Udaipur in Rajasthan Vidya Bhawan has been working since 1931 to provide quality education to children and youth from all sections of society.

           The central idea has been the development of a broad and open minded outlook towards life and a healthy sense of citizenship. Vidya Bhawan instills in its pupil faith in voluntary efforts for social transformation through education. 

            The vision of Vidya Bhawan is to build responsible and capable citizens by providing, democratic, secular and socially meaningful quality educational experiences. 

             Vidya Bhawan society was formed in August 1941 and was registered under the public societies Act.

                         HISTORY

Vidya Bhawan was founded by Dr. Mohan Si ha Mehta along with his close associates Dr. K.L. Shrimali and Shri K.L. Bordia in 1931. Ahead of it's time Vidya Bhawan was modeled on the principles of BOY SCOUT MOVEMENT  incorporating the ideal of Basic Education as opposed to the feudalistic society. The objectives was to provide uncommon education to common children. The aim was to build a responsible citizen capable of serving and transforming society.

        Shri Ajay S. Mehta is the president of Vidya Bhawan Society. He did his M.Phil. in economics from J.N.U.. He worked in the INDIAN RAILWAY TRAFFIC SERVICE from 1980-84 since then he has been associated with the voluntary sector. He is currently also president of seva mandir a voluntary organization bas in Udaipur. 

        Vidya Bhawan society,in its  objective of creating a more just democratic society has been needs of diverse section of learners which is reflected in the nature and work of all its institutions.

Vidya Bhawan's commitment of build responsible citizens many aspect of society in general and person's life in particular from school to higher and technical education capacity building in developmental area such as Agriculture Panchayati Raj and Women and Child development, conservation, and understanding of nature and preparing teachers who will educate the future generations.

   The Vidya Bhawan Secondary School the school was founded in 1941 on the principle of basic education of Gandhiji and is better known as the basic School . Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education has recognised the school up to the XII class. Good qualifications experience are the important traits of the teachers the basic School .The vision of the school is to provide quality education to children.

     The Vidya Bhavan Public School has been educating children cross section of society in a stress free learning environment. The Central Board of Secondary Education has recognised School up to the 12th class the medium of instruction is English .Well qualified and energetic teachers pay individual attention to student.
